Borrowing

All registered students and staff of the university are library members by default. Staff ID Card and Student ID Card are the library cards. Members of this type are known as internal members and are entitled to use all the library facilities including books circulation and Access to Online Databases.

All members are eligible for book loans based on the table below:

My Library Account

Returns

Loaned items must be returned via Book-Drop machines at the Main Library and manual returned to the service counter at the Learning Centre. Please return your items before overdue to avoid fines.

Renewals

Books are loaned free of charge. The initial loan period is 30 days, but, assuming your books are not reserved, they can be renewed one time without returning them to the library. Please quote your IC No. and Barcode No. of books you want to renew.

Overdue Item & Fines

The library will be charged fines for overdue items (RM 0.50 per day per item). The reminder will be sent 2 times to your registered email. You are advised to check your library account regularly. Students are blocked from borrowing when an item becomes overdue.

How to pay a fines

Check your fines in My Library Account.
Inform the Librarian for fines confirmation before making a payment.
Pay the fine and payment receipt needs to be emailed to library@oum.edu.my OR via Library WhatsApp : 019-260 0146. Please stated your details ( Full Name and IC Number)
Your account will be updated once payment is received.

Lost and Damages Items

If the book is lost or damaged while on your loan, report it immediately to the library. Students will be asked to make a new replacement for the book (with latest edition) along with a processing fee of RM 25.00
